No drawing needed – just the part
When no drawing exists anymore – only the physical part – CAD-IS takes over the complete process: 3D scanning with the portable 7-axis articulated measuring arm, reconstruction of the CAD model and CNC remanufacturing. Everything from one source, no outside service providers.
No drawing required
The existing part – even a worn one – is the only basis needed. CAD-IS scans the part, derives the nominal dimensions and remanufactures it.
Complete process from one source
Scanning, CAD model and machining all in-house. No outside scanning service, no handoffs, one contact.
Fast analysis
Once the part arrives: same-day technical assessment of whether it is suitable for reverse engineering and what effort to expect.
The process, from receiving the part to remanufacturing
Reverse engineering at CAD-IS is structured in four steps. Every step takes place in-house, without outside service providers and without information loss at handoffs.
01 · 3D scan
The part geometry is captured with the portable 7-axis articulated measuring arm. Suitable for complex geometries, hard-to-reach surfaces and worn parts.
02 · CAD reconstruction
The nominal geometry is derived from the scan data: the wear is not copied, the original nominal dimensions are reconstructed. Result: STEP file and manufacturing drawing.
03 · CNC machining
Remanufactured as a single part or small batch from standard materials, on the same machines as all our other work: 5-axis CNC or lathe.
04 · Final check & delivery
Checked against the reconstructed model before shipping, inspection report on request.
Send us a photo or the part
A photo of the part by email is enough to get started. Feasibility assessment the same day.
